What is NLP?

I specialise in teaching NLP, which is Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

It’s a way of understanding and figuring out what’s going on in your head – you can learn how your mind really works, and how to change things that aren’t making you happy.

And you don’t just get to understand yourself better – you get to figure out other people, too! It makes your relationships (yes, good ones and bad ones) easier and better.

When you figure out what’s going on, you can finally get to the root of the problem with your colleague – or even your partner!

You know when you think or do something and wonder ‘Why do Ithink that way when I know it doesn’t help me? How can I stop doing that?’

With NLP, there are step-by-step processes that show you how you can change them.

You can finally stop agonising over whether or not you’re doing the right thing.

If there’s more you want to know, read a little blog about it here or get in touch.

What results can I get?

NLP is designed to show you how to do everything you want to do, but just didn’t know how. The purpose of the techniques is for you to get rid of the thinking that holds you back. Results include:

  • Feeling happier
  • Being more confident
  • Getting rid of emotional fears and anxiety
  • Building better relationships
  • Easier decision making
  • Being more motivated
  • Stop overthinking and worrying
  • Better sales at work
  • Empowerment to improve or change your career

What does accredited training mean / what are those seals at the bottom of the website?

You might see from the seals below that my training is accredited by the ABNLP, which means I’ve proved that I reach a certain standard and my trainings are good quality and effective courses for you.

It’s a step above just being certified to train the courses, it means I meet certain standards (and it lets me use the seals you see below on our website and certificates, which not everyone is allowed to use).

Freeborn Academy NLP and Hypnosis training is accredited by the ABH-NLP, which is the American Board for Hypnotherapy and NLP.

(You can find out more about the certification standards required for all ABH-NLP courses and trainers at www.abh-abnlp.com)

Any course you come on will not only be approved by the ABH-NLP but will also prove you’ve learned enough of the standards so that, if you want, you can also join the ABH-NLP as an accredited Practitioner or Master Practitioner.

If you’re wondering whether my seals are out of date… they might not be! They’re in the standard American date format so 3/1 is 1st March instead of 3rd January.

Why should I choose you/Freeborn Academy for NLP training?

When you go to a course or training, you want to know two things:

  1. It’ll be good quality &
  2. You’ll get results.

You know I know what I’m doing, because I had to prove I’m good enough to have the ABNLP stamp (that’s a board that accredits me to say I do good work for you).

You want to come on a course because it’s going to be something pretty special – and I think that giving you the tools to feel amazing, be confident, and change anything that’s not working for you right now is pretty special.

Will you get results?

As long as you learn and get involved, absolutely. You getting the results you’ve always wanted and feeling the way you want to feel is the reason I do what I do.

And as for me?

I LOVE training.

I love going on training courses, and I love running training courses and workshops.

I’m a little bit addicted to learning and finding new skills and ways to do things.

Your improvement is basically my job.

If I’m standing at the front of the room talking to you, it’s because I’m invested in you getting everything you want, and showing you how to do it.

If you’re not sure about me or about my work, I’m always at the end of a phone or email.

Ask me any questions you want – if you’re going to come on a course, I want you to know you’re in good hands, and the best way to do that is get to know me.

Is NLP the same as CBT?

CBT and NLP are slightly different.

They’re both focussed on improving mental health by resolving negative thoughts and feelings, but they do it in different ways.

CBT is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and it shows you how to deal with negative patterns and negative thoughts that come up day to day.

You learn processes to go through that help you rationalise those thoughts and try and let them go with practice.

It’s a very conscious process.

NLP is Neuro Linguistic Programming, and its processes work at a much deeper level.

The techniques get to the root of a problem so the issue where your negative thoughts come from can be resolved to avoid them coming up again in the future.

It’s a very subconscious process (happening at a deeper level).

How do you support me in my learning?

When you sign up to a certification course, you get your pre-course study – but I don’t just leave you to it unless you want me to!

I’ll check in with you and see how you’re doing in case you have any questions in the lead up to your course. Equally, you can pick up the phone or drop me an email any time if you’re having problems.

During the course, I’m literally there the entire time for you – if you have any problems or things you want to know more about, just ask.

And after the course?

I’m still at the end of the phone or an email.

If you’ve got something you want to double check even after your course is over, you can email me to ask, and I’ll help out.

This isn’t just a 7-day course that you go on and forget about forever. It’s the kind of course that really changes how you feel about yourself and your life, and that’s not a short term thing – so neither is my support!
